This ain't my first Rodeo

Faye Dunaway immortalized the expression “this ain’t my first time at the rodeo” in the 1981 film “Mommie Dearest” about the life of actress Joan Crawford.    

Vern Gosdin later put the phrase to music in the eponymous  1990 country western song.  

The term denotes practical experience gained the hard way.  As they say around the chuck wagon, “if you haven’t fallen off a horse … then you ain’t been ridin’ long enough.“
